Race Classes

The championships will consist of the following event: 

                    BUSA White Water Individual Championships (Men's and Women's)

                    BUSA White Water Racing Team Championships

                    'Old Gits Open' Race

                    'Playboat' Class

This years race will include the following categories:    

 

Individual  Men's K1 Men's individual kayak, all types of K1 kayak allowed, see equipment rules below.
Women's K1 Women's individual kayak, all types of K1 kayak allowed, see equipment rules below.
C1 Event open to both men and women. All types of C1 canoe allowed
C2 Event open to both men and women. All types of C2 canoe allowed. 
Team K1 Men's Team 3 male K1 competitors. All type of K1 kayak allowed.
K1 Women's Team 3 female K1 competitors. All types of K1 kayak allowed.
Mixed Teams Event open to both men and women, although teams must be of mixed sex. Any 3 boats of K1, C1, C2.
Other 'Old Gits Open' Event open to both men and women, any boat allowed. See here for entrance information.
'Playboat' Class Full details to be confirmed. Event open to both men and women, any boat under 2.50m in length allowed.

Eligibility

The BUSA events are open to all students that satisfy the eligibility regulations of BUSA. Please see the BUSA website for more details. All BUSA competitors will be asked to show their university ID cards upon registration. 

The 'Old Gits Open' event is open to anyone not racing within the BUSA championships. The 'Playboat' category will be open to anyone entering another race category at the event, including the 'Old Gits Open'.

Overall Winning University

There will be a trophy for the overall winning university, calculated using the results from the BUSA championships. It is likely that a new points scoring system will be introduced this year although the details are still being confirmed.
