For more information on race entry please email us at whitewaterace@bukc.org.uk BUSA Championships Event information and entrance forms were circulated by BUSA to the Athletics Unions of ever member university, in the mailout on 5th October. The event paper work is also available for downloading here. The deadline for BUSA entries was THURSDAY 28th OCTOBER 2004 however there is still time to enter the open or 'playboat' events. Provisional Start Times A copy of the provisional start order and entries can be found here. If you find any problems please inform the organisers (whitewaterrace@bukc.org.uk). We have tried to accommodate teams with large numbers of entrances by spreading their start time throughout the day, although the times are not perfect for every university, it's the best we could do! Some universities have quite short gaps between starts and as a result will need to be very organised with shuttles. Please remember safety is paramount and drive carefully at all times. A final start list will be distributed at competitor registration. Competitors who are late for their start time will be unable to enter the event. PLEASE STICK TO THE DESIGNATED START TIMES. The Open Event Entry for the Open event will be accepted at the event, up to 3:30pm on Saturday 13th November 2004. Entries must be submitted on official BCU WWR entry cards (available via the BCU Wild Water Racing website or downloadable here). Entry costs can be found below. Competitors must provide proof of current BCU membership, non-members will be asked to take out BCU taster membership. Completed cards must be presented at the race control, situated at the top of the race course. If you want to enter the open but can't attend the event until the Sunday we will take email entrances to the above address before Wed 10th November. Entry cards and entry fees can be paid on the day. 'Playboat' Class Entry to the 'Playboat' class will be free and is available to all competitors entering another event (BUSA or Open). Entrances will be accepted at race control on Saturday 13th November before 4.30pm. Entry costs can be found below. Entry Costs Entry fees for the BUSA championships include camping for all competitors. Entry costs for the open event and spectators are as follows:
Spectator Camping - £10 Open Event Entrance and Camping - £17 Open Event Entrance Only - £10 'Playboat' Class Entrance - Free if you enter another event. All tickets for the open and spectator camping can be purchased from race control on the Saturday. Payment by cheque or cash only. Registration and Bibs Registration will commence at 9am on Saturday morning. Club Captains (or a representative) should register the whole university team at race control by 10am on the day of their event(s). The race control, start, car park and toilet block will be located at the top of the river below the Thruscross reservoir dam. Upon registration each competitor will receive a numbered bib in exchange for a £5 deposit. The easiest way for team captain's to pay for their bibs is by writing one cheque for all the team's bibs. This bib must be worn at all times when on the water, and reversed if providing safety for other competitors. Bibs must be returned to race control after their final event, where the deposit will be returned. Competitors will be given their start times at registration. Competitors who are late for their start time will be unable to enter the event. Captain's Briefing A captains briefing will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday at race control. A representative form each University MUST attend.
