original theatre
hello! (Animal Farm auditions Mon 5 Oct 5.30-7.30, Rosa Parks, The Guild)
WatchThis exists to produce original and experimental theatre – this includes brand new plays written by students here at Birmingham, improvisation workshops and shows and established plays performed in innovative ways – like our popular 48 hour shows, in which the cast have 10 days to learn their lines and just one weekend to rehearse. We also hold regular socials.
This year we want to focus even more attention on seeking out and encouraging budding playwrights so if you have the makings of a script, whether it’s just an idea or a final draft, please come along to a weekly committee meeting, which take place at 4 o’ clock in the Guild, and we can discuss the ways we can help you get the fruits of your creative loins on to the stage!
WatchThis is an ambitious, successful theatre group and a really fun community. Getting involved is a great way to meet interesting people and be dramatically creative.
We have won awards! Last year we were Highly Commended for Most Outstanding Society and Highly Commended for National and Regional Achievement.

Below is president (2007-08) James Blakey kissing the trophy for Most Innovative Society won in 2008.
